Mumbai-based global new media tech studio - Post Office Studios - a 2D animated and motion graphics vertical at Kulfi Collective have collaborated with Alok Nanda & Company for two engaging digital films for the latest ‘Change The Story’ initiative by Ambuja Cement and ACC (two of the biggest companies under Holcim India).
The films highlight the combined sustainability efforts of the two cement giants by focusing on their revolutionary bubble barrier technology that can safely remove plastic waste from rivers.
‘Change The Story’ is a sustainability campaign by Ambuja Cement and ACC that intends to create awareness about positive practices towards the environment and showcase innovative solutions that offer successful and measurable outcomes in this context. The initiative’s prime highlight was a non-invasive bubble barrier technology, which will remove around 2,400 tonnes of plastic from Agra’s Mantola canal, thereby cleaning up the Yamuna river.
To effectively showcase and visually illustrate this cutting-edge bubble barrier technology, the team at POS were engaged by ANC to help craft two digital films that were lucid as well as absorbing. While both the videos differed in content and style, each highlighted the same broader message of changing the story for the future.
The first film - for a more corporate audience - creatively conveyed it's time to free our rivers of their plastic-polluted past through the lens of a scientist experimenting on how river water (does not) affect plastic. Meanwhile, the second film takes a lighter, more interesting approach by creating “Bubble Sharma,” a 2D animated character. Furthermore, besides animation, this film also leverages the power of music by entertainingly showcasing Bubble Sharma singing a rap jingle in an underwater recording studio, demonstrating how the chain of bubbles collects plastic waste from the river.
