Blum, the furniture fittings company from Austria, has launched a campaign that’s as witty as it is smart. Moving away from traditional product-focused marketing, the brand has opted for humour to connect with Indian consumers. By addressing common frustrations in everyday furniture, Blum’s campaign under the campaign tagline, ‘built for smooth living’, aims to show how quality and premium furniture fittings improve their quality of life.
Launched recently, the integrated campaign features three fun ads showcasing Blum’s core product categories: hinges, lift systems and drawer systems. What makes these ads stand out is how they highlight familiar household scenarios like malfunctioning drawers and creaky cabinets before introducing Blum’s high-quality solutions. It's not just about showing off the products; it’s about solving real-life problems people encounter daily with their furniture.
This clever shift in strategy comes as Blum India is expanding its footprint in the market. Established over twenty years ago with headquarters in Mumbai, the company has seen exponential growth and is now under the leadership of Nadeem Patni, who serves as the managing director.
Key figures from Blum India, including Nadeem Patni, Managing Director, and Neelam Shah, Assistant Manager of Marketing and Communications, Co-created the creative campaign. Bauddhayan Mukherji, a national award-winning advertising director, and Saurabh Dikshit, a seasoned scriptwriter with 19 years of experience, collaborated with them. This powerful team combined their expertise to craft an entertaining and informative campaign, highlighting the importance of quality furniture fittings in everyday life.
Nadeem Patni said, "Blum's approach marks a significant shift in how furniture fittings are perceived. By combining humour with a focus on quality and functionality, the campaign aims to elevate a typically overlooked category within the interior design segment."
It addresses a unique challenge in the furniture industry: how do you make consumers care about components they rarely see? The answer lies in comparing Blum’s products to computer processors, positioning them as the “Intel inside” furniture. By emphasising the importance of high-quality fittings in daily furniture interactions, Blum’s messaging aims to change how consumers view these essential components.
Director Bauddhayan Mukherji said, “It marries humour with the premium, international standards Blum is known for. The ads retain an authenticity that resonates with Indian audiences while staying true to the brand’s Austrian heritage. This careful balance has made the campaign both fun and informative."
