Dahisar-DN Nagar metro project by DMRC

A Correspondent Maharashtra government has decided to handover the ambitious 18.5 km Dahisar to DN Nagar Metro-2 corridor to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for implementation. Committee's Chairman and state Chief Secretary Swadheen Kshartriya accorded administrative approval to the appointment of DMRC to implement Dahisar-DN Nagar metro-2 and interim consultant for the 16.5 km long Dahisar (East) to Andheri (East) metro-7 corridor. The committee also approved 25 electric/hybrid buses for the Bandra Kurla Complex and appointed JMC Project to construct a 3-km-long flyover from Late Rajiv Gandhi Chowk to Saibaba Mandir in the Bhiwandi-Nizampur Municipal Corporation area. The Executive Committee also approved 25 electric/hybrid buses for the Bandra-Kurla Complex and appointed contractor to construct a 3-km long flyover from Late Rajiv Gandhi Chowk to Saibaba Mandir in the Bhiwandi-Nizampur Municipal Corporation area. The Rs. 5,566 crore Dahisar to DN Nagar Metro corridor is the first phase of the DahisarCharkop-Bandra-Mankhurd Metro-2 corridor and will be implemented by the DMRC who have prepared the Detailed Project Report of the project. The DMRC has also been appointed Interim Consultants for the Rs. 4,737 crore Dahisar (East) to Andheri (East) Metro-7 corridor. The DMRC will oversee the project and will help prepare all documentation related to construction including bid documents, estimations etc. The Executive Committee, during the meeting, also approved 25 electric/hybrid buses in a bid to ease commuting woes in the Bandra-Kurla Complex. The buses will be provided at a cost of Rs. 53 crore by the lowest bidder M/s. Tata Motors Pvt. Ltd. The Committee further appointed contractor M/s. JMC Project (I) Ltd. to construct a 3-km long 7.5-meter wide two-lane flyover from the Late Rajiv Gandhi Chowk to Saibaba Mandir in the Bhiwandi-Nizampur Municipal Corporation area. The Rs. 150 crore flyover, which will not only provide relief to traffic congestion but will also reduce number of accidents on Bhiwandi-Kalyan road, is expected to be completed within a period of 3 months.
