Dalmia Bharat Limited (DBL) has announced the start of commercial production of an additional 1.0 MTPA at its current cement manufacturing facility in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh. The Kadapa integrated cement production complex had a 2.6 MTPA capacity at the time of operation.
The company now has 46.6 MTPA of installed capacity total (including that of its subsidiaries) as a result of this expansion. This strategic initiative, which is expected to cost Rs. 207 crores, aims to boost the company’s market share in the South and meet the growing demand for cement in the area. The project is in line with the business’s long-term expansion plan, which calls for raising its installed capacity to 110–130 MTPA by 2031.
Puneet Dalmia, Managing Director & CEO of Dalmia Bharat Limited, commented on the expansion. He stated that they see significant growth opportunities ahead, particularly in the Southern states where they continue to be a major player delivering quality products, especially with the expected focus on overall infrastructure capital outlay and its deployment.
Dalmia Bharat has established a strong presence in Southern India. Having production facilities in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh, it is well-positioned to address the growing infrastructural needs of the area. Due to its advantageous location, the corporation is able to effectively support new initiatives including ports, airports, railroads, and highways, all of which contribute to the region’s economic development.
