Kotak Investment Advisors partners with the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) raising USD590 million from the launch of its 12th real estate fund to invest in India’s office assets. DSK Legal acted as legal counsel for Kotak.
The DSK Legal team comprised partner Hemang Parekh, principal associate Pooja Khanna and senior associate Saumya Malviya. DSK Legal assisted Kotak in reviewing, negotiating and revising the contribution agreement, investment management agreement and the trust deed, as well as drafting and reviewing all other ancillary documents related to the transaction.
Kotak’s 12th real estate fund, which will be domiciled in Gujarat International Finance Tech (GIFT) City, will target the top six property markets of Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi-National Capital Region, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai.
This is ADIA’s fourth joint venture with Kotak in Indian real estate assets, taking the total investment to USD1.15 billion. With this 12th fund, Kotak has so far raised, managed, or advised more than USD2.8 billion under its series of real estate funds.
