The Federation of Indian Granite and Stone Industry (FIGSI) announced the Election of S. Krishna Prasad as its President and Manoj Kumar Singh as the General Secretary for the term 2024-2026. This significant development was confirmed during the recent elections, marking a defining moment for the stone industry.
Following his appointment, Krishna Prasad addressed the media, saying, “I believe in the enduring strength of unity within the granite industry, where each challenge is an opportunity sculpted by collective resilience and innovation. I am looking forward to a future where the granite industry flourishes through collaborative efforts.
Manoj Kumar, commented, "I am honoured to take on the role of General Secretary for FIGSI. The natural stone industry in India is at an exciting juncture, and I look forward to contributing towards its progress and sustainability. Together with our industry partners, we aim to face and overcome challenges and capitalize on opportunities for greater success.”
The Federation of Indian Granite and Stone Industry (FIGSI) held its Elections & Executive Committee meeting at a hotel recently, where new officers for the upcoming year were Elected. S. Krishna Prasad as the President and Manoj Kumar Singh as the General Secretary, Pramod Bhandari was elected as the Treasurer, N. Ashoken, Kalit Bhandari, Gurushastri Math, Sundar Somani, Arun Malhotra, and Dr. H.S. Yadav were appointed as Vice Presidents. S. Shankarnarayan was named the Joint Treasurer, and Lakshmikant Jain, Sanjeev Modi, Manish Poddar, C.H. Jameel Ahmed, Pankaj Verma, Ajitha Joy, Zaki Chakkiwalla, and Kailash Singh Mertiya were appointed as Joint Secretaries. Notably, FIGSI is actively involved in the development of the natural stone and granite industry. The institution also organizes the STONA exhibition every two years.

With an impressive track record, he has served FIGSI in various capacities, including Treasurer, General Secretary, and Vice President, showcasing his commitment and leadership prowess.
Manoj Kumar Singh, the Director of M/s Metro Granite & Marble and Managing Partner of M/s Metro Stones, hails from a lineage deeply rooted in the granite and marble industry. Founded in 1991 by his visionary father, Late B B Singh, the company has been a mark of excellence in granite and marble manufacturing.
Recognizing the need for growth in the Natural Stone Industry in Southern India, Manoj Kumar Singh, with his family's industry background, established a primary processing facility in Bangalore. Under his leadership, the company has evolved into a global player, expanding its business footprint to more than 40 countries.
