Indore Municipal Corporation to provide water for construction purposes
The Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) plans to provide treated water in construction sites by setting up a hydrant at the Kabir Khedi sewage treatment plant. Mayor Malini Gaud had directed civic body officials that drinking water should not be used for other purposes. According to IMC officials, the construction sites are of the major consumers of water and close to 15 MLD of water are required daily at city’s daily construction sites. The mayor has proposed that a hydrant can be set up at the Kabir Khedi plant where the civic body had a sewage treatment plant (STP) which treats 245 MLD of water daily. The civic body is working simultaneously on two proposals. “The tankers will be given tokens by the IMC where they can come and take water upto the level they have been allotted. Afterwards, they can sell it to the construction companies at rates decided beforehand by the IMC,” mayor said.
