To address persistent technical glitches and provide a seamless online self-assessment service for property tax, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) will launch a new mobile application and strengthen its existing web-based self-assessment service with enhanced security features.
To facilitate this upgrade and resolve technical issues, the existing web-based service has been temporarily suspended for 15 days. The suspension aims to address ongoing technical glitches and improve security features for both the app and the website. This decision follows numerous complaints from users regarding errors and misuse of the current system. Launched two years ago, the service was initially designed to allow citizens to register their properties online via the LMC website.
However, several issues have arisen, including the submission of incorrect property details, changes in ownership names, inaccurate carpet area entries, and modifications to location data. LMC commissioner Inderjit Singh directed officials to suspend the service and prioritise resolving these issues.
