Nagpur civic body develops app to monitor property tax

The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has developed a mobile-based application 'Tax Monitoring System', which would help its tax collectors to recover property tax hassle-free. The app will provide detailed information of property owners, current tax and outstanding payment in their android smartphones. The app has been developed by a private agency and every employee of the tax department has been provided with a User ID and password for its application. Out of 6.50 lakh properties, data of 5.78 lakh has been uploaded in the application. The work to upload the remaining details of property owners in the application is under progress, said assistant municipal commissioner Milind Meshram. The properties across the city have been divided into 77 wards, he said. The app will give some momentum to the recovery of property tax, he added.
