Subramanian Sarma Promoted to Deputy MD, President at L&T

The full-time Director and President (Energy) at Larsen & Toubro Ltd, Subramanian Sarma, has been elevated to Deputy Managing Director and President of the construction major since April 2nd.

On the upgrade, Subramanian Sarma said, "I am honoured to take on this new role at a time when L&T is witnessing strong growth and expansion. I thank the CMD & L&T’s Board Members for their continued trust. I look forward to contributing to the company’s long-term vision and creating sustainable value for stakeholders."

The company’s board has also extended Sarma’s term till February 2028, subject to shareholders’ approval in the upcoming Annual General Meeting. S.N. Subrahmanyan, Chairman and Managing Director of L&T, said, "Sarma has been instrumental in transforming our hydrocarbon and energy businesses, driving innovation, operational excellence, and global competitiveness. His elevation is well deserved, and I am confident that his leadership will further strengthen L&T’s growth trajectory."

With a career spanning more than 40 years, Sarma has had extensive experience working in West Asia and handled the complete oil and gas value chain across various geographies. He was appointed to the board of L&T in August 2015. Sarma is a chemical engineering graduate who completed his master’s at the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai.
