Bureau of Energy Efficiency Chooses Tirumala for Green Energy Pilot Project
The bureau of energy efficiency, a statutory body under the union ministry of power, has chosen Tirumala for a green energy pilot project. BEE director general Abhay Bakre along with other officials met Tirupati EO Dr KS Jawahar Reddy and other Devasthanams officials in Tirupati on Friday and discussed the pilot project. BEE representatives told the TTD EO that an expert team will soon visit Tirumala to study the prospects of green energy power generation at Tirumala. The bureau of energy efficiency will examine the proposals which will be submitted by the TTD and will extend financial, technical and all other necessary support to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams which has been exploring various alternative power generation prospects, keeping in mind its ever-increasing power consumption which is linked to the pilgrim footfall at Tirumala.
