Cement stocks advance; Shiva Cement jumps 5%
Shiva Cement, Sanghi Industries and Udaipur Cement Works were the top gainers. Shares of Shiva Cement (up 4.99 per cent), Sanghi Industries (up 2.57 per cent), Udaipur Cement Works (up 2.08 per cent), Andhra Cements (up 1.57 per cent), JK Lakshmi Cement (up 1.39 per cent), ACC (up 0.79 per cent) and Star Cement (up 0.78 per cent) were among the top gainers. While Shri Keshav Cements (down 6.40 per cent), Deccan Cements (down 2.11 per cent) and Saurashtra Cement (down 1.60 per cent) were among the top losers. The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 59.85 points up at 11,974.25, while the 30share BSE Sensex was up 203.32 points at 40,562.73 at around 10:18 am. Bharti Airtel (up 4.36 per cent), Tata Steel (up 3.18 per cent), Hindalco Industries (up 3.10 per cent), Bharti Infratel (up 2.80 per cent) and JSW Steel (up 2.23 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
