Over 50 new homes are available to buy in Dublin for less than €300,000 under the affordable housing scheme. The properties on offer consist of a mix of two and three-bedroom houses and are based in Hayestown, Rush near the seaside.

For eligible applicants, prices start at €228,000 for a two-bedroom mid-terrace house. The cost of a three-bedroom mid-terrace house will begin at €284,500, while a three-bedroom semi-detached house will be priced from €299,500.

The development is located near Rush town centre, close to the scenic Fingal coastline. Rush offers convenient access to Dublin through a regular train service, making it an attractive choice for commuters.

Hayestown spans approximately six acres and forms part of an ongoing development. Construction of the new homes in Hayestown is already underway, and the entire development is expected to be completed by 2024.

Expressing his support for the initiative, the Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Howard Mahony, said: “Affordable housing is the cornerstone of a thriving community that can help empower individuals and families, and help to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to build a brighter future. I believe that every resident deserves a safe and comfortable home they can call their own - by nurturing the spirit of affordability in developments like Hayestown, we can help pave the way for inclusivity, stability, and importantly, give people a roof over their head.”

These affordable prices have been made possible through the Affordable Housing Fund (AHF), which provides subsidies to local authorities from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage. This funding allows local authorities to offer homes for purchase or rent at significantly reduced prices, making them more affordable compared to market rates.
