Chairman of South Siam (one of the major developers of villa housing in the second home market in the gulf of Thailand) Mr. Matthew Beresford says that the group is switching its target emphasis from Europeans to Asian tourists in the area. Says Beresford: Whilst there are still many English and US visitors or ex-pats that enjoy the benefits of investing in Thailand; Our experience is that the troubles of Brexit and other economic problems in Europe mean that there is a better reception for second homes in Thailand from Asian neighbors rather than from the traditional European buyer.
