The Nomad Hotel brand will open its first London property in December this year, housed within the grade II listed former Bow Street Magistrates’ Court and Police Station. The 19th century building is located on Bow Street close to Covent Garden Underground Station, and has been closed since 2006. As previously reported, the 92-room Nomad London will feature a number of food and beverage outlets including all day dining Nomad Restaurant housed within an atrium “reminiscent of an Edwardian Greenhouse”. The hotel will also house an art programme “celebrating the influence of post-war American art and European avant-garde”, and the original Magistrates’ Courtroom will be converted into events space. Nomad is owned by the Sydell Group, which also operates London’s The Ned hotel in partnership with Soho House and Co, as well as the Freehand, Saguaro and Park MGM brands.
