What are the USPs of the TVS ILP Warehousing Facility in Hosur?

One of the biggest USPs of this facility is its location advantage. Hosur has a good proximity to Bangalore and Chennai and Hosur itself is an auto manufacturing hub. The TVS has a very strong manufacturing presence here.  The company started working in this market long back, and one of the key area focused is logistics.

Secondly, ours is a future ready warehouse that with automated storage, sorting and dispatch. With the latest upgradation the warehouse facility has even more sophisticated loading docks, can accommodate almost 100 trucks and has also introduced Miyawaki plantation, truckers rest areas and staff canteen.

In terms of investment, TVS ILP has spent around Rs 40 crore for this facility, while from TVS supply chain the investment is around Rs 50-60 crore for its infrastructure.

What have been the changes in the occupier’s demand?

With emerging times, warehousing is not just about storage it has become a facility that includes complete systems for stocking, sorting and dispatch in India and abroad with strict timelines. With the new players coming in, especially the e-commerce and FMCG, most companies are now transforming their facility to be fully automated to enable the client’s business and raise their bottom line.

Adoption of sustainable practices has also become an important requirement, such as solar power, rainwater harvesting, waste management etc. The Hosur warehouse facility has adopted solar lighting, water saving strategies and green plantation to improve the environment around. The company further aims for net zero emission in the coming times.

What are the roadblocks for the warehousing sector?

One of the biggest challenges even today is that although, the government has given the industry status to logistics, at state level the things have yet to change for the better. There needs to be more clarity on rules and regulations for smooth functioning of the logistics and warehousing sector as they are crucial for seamless supply chain that impacts other industries productivity,

What are the company’s future growth plans?

We are in the process of considering geographical expansion. Pune is a city that is on our radar.  We also have plans to set footprint in Easter India, in places like Silliguri and Guwahati in the coming two three months. We have a strong base in South and gradually we will look at expanding in other regions as well.

When it comes to business part, the company first understands the client and gets confidence form the clients, even before the land acquisition is done. Land does not come as a priority for the company but the customer comes first. We also believe in strategic partnerships where the focus is on overall growth and choose investors too, for not just number but to grow to next level overall.
