The month of April marks the harvest season and the advent of New Year in many states across India. The developers too, launch various schemes around this time for homebuyers.

Text: Sreyasi Maity In the month of April, six different states celebrate their New Year. April 14 is celebrated as Baisakhi in Punjab, Vishu in Kerala and Bohag Bihu in Assam. Similarly, Pohela Boishakh in Bengal, Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra and Ugadi in Karnataka are observed as New Year on April 15. The auspicious occasion also sees lot of activity in real estate with buyers looking to make their home purchase during this time and developers offering various incentives.

Ashok Mohanani, Chairman, EKTA World, Vice President, NAREDCO Maharashtra expressed, “Several developers sweeten deals with offers and value propositions resulting in hike in sales. Although, the due elections could lend a speculative mood, however, we are sure about good deals this season.”

Buying a home during festive occasions requires due diligence and proper research about the developer’s credibility. A word of advice for the homebuyers would be to make sure that there are no hidden costs and pending project approvals and licenses.
