Maharashtra CM inaugurates new office building of MMRDA

Maharastra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has inaugurated a new administrative building of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) in BKC, Mumbai. The new 9-storey iconic Green building was designed with green (sustainable) features including energy efficient water, lighting, HVAC systems and is equipped with many facilities; such as modern auditorium, board rooms, two-level basement, two service floors, public address system, CCTVs, door frame metal detectors, baggage scanners, ample parking space etc. The building also provides for sewerage treatment plant, rain water harvesting and solar panels among other facilities. However, MMRDA’s new office building is designed and built by Team One Architects, features a column free-space on all floors. While the main staircase and lift lobbies is provided with granite flooring, LED lights, high ceilings, skylight and floor?to? ceiling windows create abundant natural light in work and common areas while the complex is also equipped with 250 seater hi-tech auditorium. The lobbies and entrance are provided with Italian marble flooring. The L-shaped commercial building represents an evolutionary approach to exploit the L-shaped plot. The actual envelope of the building is composed of durable glazed units. “The new MMRDA office building is indeed iconic. It’s spacious, elegant and represents the modern culture that is created by MMRDA by undertaking and completing various infrastructure projects not only in the city but also in its metropolitan region. The government organization that is undertaking mega projects invoking global attention required such state-of-the-art facility”, said Fadnavis after inaugurating the building. “This new office building is one further step in our objective to put new building strategies and self-sustainable technologies into practice in an economically viable way, using our experience to continually reset our own standards of quality,” said Parish Kapse, Strategist & Founder Team One Architects.
