Thiruvananthapuram Draft Master Plan 2040 Gets Approved

The city corporation council has approved the draft master plan 2040. For the time being, the corporation will not bring in the recommended regulations for the construction of multi-storied buildings according to the width of the roads. This was one of the key recommendations in the draft master plan of the city corporation.

It has been decided to apply the Kerala Municipality building rules for the construction of any type of building. The draft plan recommends that only buildings with a maximum area of 1,000 square meters (10,770 square feet) should be constructed near a five-meter-wide road.

It also recommended that only a 4,000 square meter building be constructed if there is a 7-meter-wide road in front and a 24,000-square-meter building near a 10-meter road After the final approval of the master plan, it has also been decided not to allow land type change in the protected areas. The council meeting approved the submission of the recommendations made regarding the draft master plan to the government.
