World Trade Center NDITA Signs MOU With WTC In 5 Major Cities

World Trade Center NDITA , The First World Trade Center (WTC)Project in salt lake at West Bengal by Merlin Group  has signed a memorandum of understanding with the World Trade Centers of Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi and Noida at the Urban infrastructure session at Biswabanga Mela Prangan of Bengal Global Business Summit ,2023.

The aim of the strategic partnership with the WTC Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi and Noida is to explore scopes  to enhance trade and investment in West Bengal and the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Delhi . This partnership shall promote the strengthening of global trade with special emphasis on exports from West Bengal, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi and Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

At a formal occasion at Infrastructure session at the Bengal Global Business Summit at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan, The MOUs were signed and exchange between Shri Sushil Mohta, Chairman, WTC NDITA , Shri Vineet Verma, Managing Director, WTC Bengaluru, Chennai and Kochi, Shri Vijay Kalantri, Chairman, WTC Mumbai and  Shri Amrit Lal Batwal, Senior manager, Trade & Allied Services,  World Trade Center India  which represents 13 centers in northern west region. In the August presence of Shri Firhad Hakim, Cabinet Minister of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs and Housing, Government of West Bengal.

While signing the MOUs , Sushil Mohta, Chairman, WTC NDITA , Chairman, Merlin Group, President, CREDAI WEST BENGAL , said, “Today is a very important day for Merlin group. We have announced here in Bengal global Business Summit, the World Trade Center, which we are building in Nabadiganta- Salt lake, Sector-V area. We will have 4 million square foot facility consisting of offices, retail, hotel and WTC facilities including exhibition, conference hall and facilities which will be designated as World Trade Center.

This World Trade center will connect West Bengal and Calcutta to the rest of the globe. As you know that there are about over 300 World Trade Centers in 90 countries across the globe. So for the International Business Trade Connection, It is an excellent organization. And now Calcutta is also on the map of WTC. It's a matter of pride for all of us. And today we have signed this memorandum of understanding with WTC Bangalore, WTC Mumbai and WTC Noida.

We will support each other for various activities, for our members, for our business houses in our state. And in the like manner we will support their business houses and members in our state. So, World Trade Center is a very good community to promote trade and industry. And we look forward to have more of such conferences and interaction on the World Trade Center platform soon.”

“World Trade Centre , NDITA will reinforce the economic prosperity of West Bengal as well as Eastern India by forging collaboration with WTC Mumbai, Bengaluru and Noida. It will also connect international trade bodies and investors from other countries through other World Trade Center members”, added Mohta. 

Vijay Kalantri , Chairman, WTC Mumbai & board member of WTCA said ,  “We have signed An MoU with NDITA, Mohta who is developing a world trade centre in Kolkata. The MOU will help promote the objective of BGBS as “ Bengal slogan is Bengal means business”. So to promote trade business opportunities, invest opportunities between India and overseas including Mumbai and Kolkata and other cities within West Bengal and connectivity to improve further relations and strengthening the relations of business opportunities, investment technology transfer, joint ventures supporting MSME. This will be the main focus of this MOU and we look forward to working together successfully in implementing this MoU as well as developing further relations in the interest of trade and industry growth and employment.”

Vineet Verma, Managing Director, WTC Bengaluru, Chennai and Kochi, said, “At WTC Bangalore we have a unique privilege of hosting the upcoming Global Business Forum in March 2024. We are inviting the state Govt to the event which is going to be held from 3rd  to 6th  March. We have twelve business sectors that be discussing. There's a lot of matchmaking going to happen, a lot of business to business meetings. If the corporates of Bengal are interested then please do contact Sushil Mohta's office at Merlin that is developing WTC NDITA. They will help you further to register. We look forward to seeing a great participation from West Bengal in Bangalore in March.

Shri Amrit Lal Batwal, Senior manager, Trade & Allied Services,   World Trade Center India  which represents 13 centers in northern west region, said “ WTC India Services Council signed an MoU with  World Trade center NDITA. The agenda of MoU's is to jointly work on various industry initiatives to jointly promote trade investment opportunities between WTC alliance states in northwest India and West Bengal.  The focus will be to promoting business opportunities for all the stakeholders , The MSME sector in  West Bengal and helping out WTC NDITA with all the possible alignments services and Services on behalf of World Trade Center India Services Council which is spearheading 13 centers.”

Earlier this year , The World Trade Center Association (WTCA) joined hands with Merlin Group, for developing a World Trade Centre, being the first under construction World Trade Center in Eastern India in this year . The proposed World Trade Center  under construction is located in the  Nabadiganta Industrial Township Authority (NDITA) area, Salt Lake, West Bengal. The License Agreement for World Trade Center, duly executed, was exchanged between Scott Wang, Vice President, World Trade Center Association, Asia Pacific region, and Sushil Mohta, Chairman along with Saket Mohta, Managing Director of Merlin Group, Kolkata on March 21,2023 in Kolkata.

“We are planning to develop the World Trade Center which will be around 4 milllion sq ft which will primarily consists of offices for IT, ITES and users, convention halls , five star hotel and some retail blocks , and lot of F&B options . This will be a world class facility

We have tied up with Turner, a world renowned company  for providing project management consultancy , they have also provided consultancy to projects like . We are also in the process of finalizing some   international design firm for the project. We have shortlisted some firms and soon we will finalise them. The project will be having most advanced technology including  Artificial intelligence, best of the surveillance system”, said Sushil Mohta, Chairman, WTC NDITA, Chairman Merlin Group & President, CREDAI WEST BENGAL.

Saket Mohta, Managing Director of Merlin Group commented that the proposed World Trade Center would consist of sprawling 3.5 million sq. ft at Nabadiganta Industrial Township Authority (NDITA) area, Salt Lake, West Bengal, with an investment of Rs. 1500 Cr. It will be an iconic State of Art facility having World Trade Center branded Services including trade information, trade education & research, inbound & outbound trade missions, business services, tenant services, international business club, conference facility, convention and services, exhibition, facility and IT/ITes offices, combined with support facilities, retail, 5-star hotel, F&B outlets, as well as entertainment facilities, as per the present policy.

He also commented that the proposed World Trade Center will be another feather in the cap of West Bengal and will help in Bengal to attract its youth giving them a vibrant opportunity and quality lifestyle with its proposed development.
