Daikin India, a maker of air conditioning equipment, announced that it will invest Rs500 crore over the next three years to establish its third R&D center in the nation in Neemrana in Rajasthan.

The center would cover 24,000 square meters and employ more than 250 engineers who will work on the research and development of products specifically for India. In addition, 22 new testing facilities and labs will be housed in the facility, which will improve the company's production competitiveness for goods sold in export markets, it was said.

The company said the new R&D center will begin operations in 2023. The other two R&D facilities for Daikin India are in Hyderabad and Neemrana. Next to the company's Neemrana production facility will be the third one.
