Global asset management giant BlackRock has announced the appointment of Sumeet Nagar as Managing Director, effective January 2026. Based in Gurugram, Haryana, Nagar will continue to play a pivotal role in driving scale, efficiency, and transformation across post-trade and investment operations within the organization.
With over 21 years of professional experience, Nagar brings a unique blend of financial domain expertise and technology leadership, spanning post-trade operations, securities and derivatives processing, clearing and settlement, and operational risk mitigation.
Nagar’s career journey includes more than 13 years at BlackRock, where he has held leadership roles such as Director and Vice President, leading global engineering teams for Investment Operations and managing APAC Trade Operations from Gurugram.
Prior to joining BlackRock, he worked with Headstrong HR Consulting Services, supporting institutions including UBS Investment Bank, Wachovia Capital Markets, and Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. He began his career at Geometric Software Solution, a joint venture with Dassault Systèmes, where he built a strong foundation in software engineering and global delivery.
Nagar’s appointment underscores BlackRock’s commitment to strengthening its India operations and leveraging technology-driven processes to enhance global investment operations. His leadership is expected to further accelerate BlackRock’s transformation agenda and reinforce its position as a leading asset management organization worldwide.
