Brigade Group has accelerated its expansion in Kerala with the foundation stone laying of its flagship World Trade Center (WTC) at Technopark Phase I, Kazhakootam, and the inauguration of Brigade Square, a 1.85 lakh sq. ft. IT building near Technopark’s Park Centre. The WTC will rise 20 floors above ground with four basements, designed to serve as a global business hub that enhances the local IT ecosystem and attracts international investment.
The Bhoomi puja and ceremony were attended by Shri Seeram Samabasiva Rao, IAS, Special Secretary, Department of Electronics & IT, Government of Kerala, who unveiled the plaque. Brigade Square was inaugurated by Shri Sandip Kumar IAS, CEO of Technopark, in the presence of Brigade Enterprises’ Executive Chairman, M.R. Jaishankar.
Speaking at the event, Jaishankar said: “At Brigade, we have always believed in the power of infrastructure to transform cities into global economic hubs. Our commitment to Kerala is driven by the state’s exceptional talent pool and its emerging potential as a primary growth engine for South India. By bringing world-class landmarks like the World Trade Center to Thiruvananthapuram and expanding our presence in Kochi, we are creating a sustainable ecosystem that will attract global investment and redefine the state’s industrial landscape for decades to come.”
The company also revealed plans to expand in Infopark Kochi by adding another tower to the existing WTC campus, taking the total IT office space there to one million sq. ft. This expansion underscores Brigade’s long-term strategy of positioning Kerala as a credible alternative to saturated metro markets.
Shri Sandip Kumar IAS highlighted the city’s strong connectivity and talent pool, noting that Technopark offers abundant opportunities with land availability and supportive policies. He added that the new IT policy would outline incentives for the industry, while land shortage issues in Kochi could be addressed through policy changes.
Shri Hrishikesh Nair, President of WTC, further detailed Brigade’s roadmap, emphasizing the creation of a comprehensive IT infrastructure environment in Thiruvananthapuram to attract global companies.
The ceremonies were attended by several dignitaries, including former CEOs of Technopark, industry leaders, and senior executives of Brigade Enterprises. Together, the launch of WTC and Brigade Square marks a significant milestone in Kerala’s journey toward becoming a global IT destination.
