Nemetschek India, a subsidiary of the global Nemetschek Group, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Veermata Jijabhai Technological Institute (VJTI) on August 20 to establish an Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Centre of Excellence. The agreement was followed by the inauguration of a cutting-edge AEC Lab on the VJTI campus.
The collaboration aims to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application by equipping students and faculty with hands-on experience in advanced digital technologies, including Building Information Modelling (BIM), structural design, and project management.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Sachin Kore, Director, VJTI; Sunil Pandita, Chief Division Officer, Nemetschek Group and VJTI alumnus; and Prof. A. S. Wayal, Head of Civil Engineering Department, VJTI.
“This initiative strengthens industry-academia ties and empowers future-ready professionals,” said Sunil Pandita. “We’re proud to advance digital learning and research for our students,” added Dr. Kore.
The AEC Lab features software from Nemetschek’s global portfolio and will host joint research projects, faculty development programs, and student-led innovations. The partnership marks a strategic milestone in Nemetschek India’s academic outreach, following similar alliances with leading technical institutions across the country.
