Chief executive officer of Yamuna Expressway Authority and Noida International Airport Ltd (NIAL) Arun Vir Singh was given a six-month extension, his sixth on the posts, till Dec 31. Singh, a 1987-batch UP civil services officer, was promoted to IAS rank in 2005. He was appointed the CEOs of the Yamuna Authority in 2016 and NIAL in 2018.
He retired on June 30, 2019, but his service was subsequently extended by state govt which allowed him to remain on the posts. An order issued by UP industrial development department principal secretary Anil Kumar Sagar said, “Singh was reemployed as the YEIDA and NIAL CEOs from Jan 1, 2024, to June 30, 2024. Following due consideration, the reemployment period has been extended from July 1 to Dec 31, 2024, or until further orders from the govt, whichever is earlier. The governor has approved this extension.”
NIAL is the government body overseeing the upcoming Noida International Airport. Singh is also overseeing the Film City project and several industrial projects like Medical Device Park, Toy Park, Apparel Park, and Data Park. He has been instrumental in the rapid rail project.
