Ghaziabad development body to adopt online building maps

The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) may soon adopt the online map approval model of Bangalore Development Authority to curb illegal and unauthorised constructions in the city. A team of GDA officials recently visited Bengaluru to gain a first-hand knowledge of working of the BDA. On return, they submitted a report to GDA vice-chairperson KanchanVerma. The BDA has zero human intervention as far as map approval is concerned. If the map conforms to building bylaws, it approves it within a matter of hours. The map with anomalies are rejected automatically and the intimation is sent to the user with details of the nature of anomaly.
