The Haryana housing board has earned a gross profit of Rs 41.47 crore during financial year 2016-17, which is 35.70 crore higher as compared to the profit of corresponding period of last year. The Board has generated profit of Rs 5.77 crore in year 2015-16.
Disclosing this, Chairman, housing board, Jawahar Yadav said that the board has expedited its allotment process which has enhanced the profit to such a huge extent. It has allotted about 2,000 houses per month to the applicant allottees by holding draw of lots for several estates. About 17,000 houses have been offered to allottees for possession since February 2016.
The Chairman said that board would also provide affordable housing scheme in villages where the panchayats are ready to provide land and housing schemes would be feasible. The development and Panchayats department have already been requested for this purpose. He said that Board had also decided that the unsold housing stock of about 6,800 houses either surrendered or remained unallotted due to one or another reason would also be advertised at the earliest in the same category, preferably in the month of September-October.
He said that the board had recently held the draw of successful applicants of housing scheme in Sector-31, Panchkula for allotment of flats to defence personnel or paramilitary forces. Allotment letters for the same had already been issued and the flats would be ready for possession within a period of two years. Draw of 434 flats for industrial units or entrepreneurs and industrial workers for Barhi in district Sonipat would be held in the month of September. Apart from this, draw for allotment of BPL flats in Rewari, Narwana and Bahadurgarh would also be held in September 2017.
