Mother’s Day every year is dedicated to the mothers who juggle a hundred different tasks just to ensure we have everything we need, not out of expectations of return, but for sheer love.
The official theme for Mother's Day 2025 is "Celebrating Motherhood: A Timeless Bond". This theme emphasizes the enduring nature of the bond between mothers and their children, highlighting the love and support they provide throughout life.
As per the Pink Collar Skilling report, India sees only about 2% women executives in construction and real estate companies, and less than 2% reach the top leadership positions. It is essential to recognize the unique challenges faced by working mothers and to provide them with the support and encouragement they need to thrive, particularly in leadership roles.
Megha Goel, Chief Human Resource Officer, Godrej Properties Ltd. says, “Balancing the demands of career and family is not easy for any mother. By implementing meaningful interventions at crucial junctures in their professional journey, we not only foster inclusivity and diversity but also pave the way for a future that is inherently fair and equitable for all. These interventions not only support the career advancement of working mothers but also contribute to a culture where everyone, regardless of gender or background, has equal opportunities to succeed. One such initiative unique to Godrej Properties is the launch of CREW – Collective of Real Estate Women; A National Collective of Women Professionals, aimed at empowering women in real estate, construction, and allied sectors.
Vinayak Pai, MD & CEO, Tata Projects Ltd. shares, “The presence of women in the construction sector, particularly among working mothers, has always been a big challenge. Due to pre-existing systemic biases and gender based differential growth trajectories, the infrastructural sector remains deterrent rather than a preferred sector for Indian women. Inclusion is a core value at Tata Projects and Initiatives such as ‘On Her Shoulders’ Campaign aims to celebrate women and working mothers who work at the company while paying an homage to their journey and contributions, sharing stories of their strengths, resilience and dedication demonstrating that India’s infrastructure is being built on strong shoulders. Furthermore, initiatives such as SCIP (second careers inspiring possibilities) and focused women hiring campaigns are aimed towards setting up gender diversity objectives within the companies, that support women across arenas and provide opportunities for growth in their career.
