National Technology Day: Cybersecurity in Times of War

During periods of geopolitical tension like the current India-Pakistan situation, the risk of targeted cyberattacks increases sharply. These can disrupt financial systems, steal sensitive data, or damage critical infrastructure. In such an environment, traditional perimeter security or reactive patching is not enough.

The focus should be on practical, continuous protection—starting with geo-fencing high-risk regions, running real-time vulnerability scans, and deploying virtual patches immediately when issues are found, informed Ashish Tandon, Founder & CEO, Indusface.

He also explained that, the managed WAAP model ensures round-the-clock monitoring, fast response, and reduced exposure. When exploits can happen within hours and most patches take months, continuous, expert-led application and API security becomes essential to maintaining operations and minimizing risk.
