HVAC requirements for Tall and Super High-rise Buildings What unique HVAC requirements do tall/super-high-rise buildings require? Every building has its own purpose and in that regard residential and commercial requirement are different from each other. While a residential building would focus on higher flexibility, commercial building would require higher efficiency and operational effectiveness. Commercial high-rise buildings require lower foot print to accommodate the large plant room, higher plant room efficiency, lesser maintenance cost. These structure do qualify for “low flow design” which helps to address the above points. Buildings designed with “low flow” or called as “Earth wise” Trane’s parlance helps to reduce energy and water consumption while increasing performance of the building. What are the HVAC Options best suitable for Tall structures? There are myriad option for Tall Structure and the solution depends on the application. For a residential structure options from Split units to High Efficient Mini VRF are available. Commercial buildings (Small to Large) depending upon utility, the solution range from Large VRF to Central Chiller plant are suggested. Trane has product for Residential, Small & large Commercial buildings. TVR II &Genyue series offer compressive Large VRF solution with combination as high as 80 HP is available. These units offer greater flexibility in operation and higher energy efficient which is a clear mandate for buildings. For large buildings, Trane offers Integrated Products such as Chiller, AHU, VAV, large VRF & IBMS controls. The Thermal comfort & energy efficiency challenges in HVAC HVAC and refrigeration applications consume more than 50% of the Building energy consumption. A good system design helps in better thermal comfort and an efficient plant. However, a good design not maintained properly will lead to higher energy leak than an average design with better maintenance. The combination of good HVAC design and proper maintenance, results in Energy Efficiency & Thermal comfort. With focus on high performance building, Trane with its latest range of HVAC product in Ecowise Portfolio (RTAF, RTHF, RTWF, CVHH /CDHH) aim to use fewer resources and maximize the operation to provide a better place for living. Alongside of these product Trane’s Air distribution system such as AHUs and VAV supports better Indoor air distribution to the conditioned space and effect is multiplied using Trane BMS controls. The importance of integration of HVAC with smart building systems Its finally about convenience and a singular multi-faceted platform when it comes to controls of a smart building system. It increases efficiency, productivity and improves ease of handling large systems. In the form of convergent technology Trane offers Integrated Building Management system or the IBMS solution which not only control Chiller, AHU, VAV but also integrates information from other critical services like CCTV, PA, and fire alarms installed in the building. The system enables to collect data from the field devices and is programmed intelligently to perform automated tasks. The dash board reports also helps the user to take informed decisions on the operational parameters of the system and aids them to have view of the system as a whole. Trane IBMS & BMS solution helps the customer to automate the plant and take informed decisions from various field level information.
