How have you maintained synergies between professional and personal life?
Any working individual must be able to draw a clean equilibrium to balance his or her various roles in societywhether it is towards home, family, work or personal health. Personally my planner saves me on a daily basis. Being fit is very important to me and I find it reflects on my performance too, so I make sure to work out at least three times a week whether it is Yoga or playing Squash and also get in sufficient sleep time. I also engage myself in hobbies like learning vocal classical music or giving back to society by being a part of voluntary organizations.
What are some of the career achievements that are close to your heart?
Being able to gain respect, support and admiration for my work from counterparts in this male-dominated sector is always a big motivation to continue working harder. Other than that every successful out-of-the-box media campaign I design with my team is always well appreciated in the industry encourages me to keep going. Being invited year on year to be on a senior working committee in CREDAI is a huge morale booster. This year, I am proud to be appointed Chair for Young Indians, Pune- also, the only woman chair across the 45 city organisation in the country.
What are the general perceptions about women in your field of career and how have you handled them?
The right amount of warmth is required to make a house a home. Having this innate nurturing quality, a woman naturally adds that coziness required specifically in the real estate industry for home-buyer to feel comfortable spending his entire life savings in buying a home with the developer. I think my male-counterparts could sometimes unknowingly neglect this important value. As far as success goes, one’s discipline, determination and dedication define that, man or woman.
I dream about starting a new venture of my own outside of Real Estate in the field of design sometime in the future. Until then, I keep trying to innovate marketing techniques for real estate at Goel Ganga while implementing standardized and organised structures of working.
