Illegal constructions till Dec 2015 in Pimpri Chinchwad to be regularised
All illegal constructions in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) areas till December 2015 would be regularised on payment of compounding charges. There are over 40,000 illegal constructions in Pimpri Chinchwad. The owners would have to give complete details of unauthorised constructions, approved by licensed architects to PCMC’s buildings department by April 30, 2018. There are a total of 202 licensed architects. The owners would also have to submit Google images of the property, along with details of property tax, sewerage tax, and penalty tax on illegal construction. The licensed architect has to give a stability certificate for the illegal construction. Civic officials said that construction would be regularised for five floors (15 metres), and if it is more than 36 metres (twelve floors), no-objection certificate would be required from the fire brigade department. If the illegal construction is along roads and in the development plan, opinion of the PCMC town planning department would be required. The owners would have to submit building construction maps. PCMC executive engineers would visit every construction and principally approve it, the officials said. The civic administration has issued a notification that dilapidated or structurally unsafe buildings would not be regularised. The state government’s urban development department had issued a notification last month under the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act for regularisation of constructions in residential, commercial and industrial zones. However, illegal constructions in buffer zone, red zone, blue lines of rivers, and on hill slopes would not be regularised.
