Andhra Pradesh is biggest beneficiary of Centre's housing scheme: Minister Narayana
Stating that Andhra Pradesh government is committed to provide houses to every eligible person, municipal administration and urban development minister Dr P Narayana has said that they are confident of handing over the keys to the beneficiaries by next year Dasara. He said that the works on 1.32 lakh houses were already started and they are going to launch second phase works in another fortnight. Narayana made a visit in city on Tuesday as part of Intintiki TDP programme and interacted with the locals in Nawab Pet area. Responding to the pleas from the locals, minister assured that they would not leave even a single eligible person out of the housing scheme bracket. He said that AP is the highest beneficiary of the urban housing scheme from the Centre as it got 5.39 lakh houses. He said that they would tie-up with the contractors for all the phases of the project in next few weeks as they wanted to complete the project in another 12 months. He further said that houses for weaker sections would be constructed with premium quality and international standards. He said that Centre itself was surprised to learn about the Shear Wall technology being followed by AP for urban housing scheme.
