Bihar CM Reviews Urban Development & Housing Department Work

Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday asked the officials of the urban development and housing department (UDHD) to provide housing facility to the homeless urban poor in all the cities of the state.

Nitish, who reviewed the work being done by the UDHD, said the scheme for the provision of housing facilities to the homeless urban poor was part of the Bihar Atmanirbhar vision that underlined the Saat Nischchay-II programme of the government.

Under the scheme, multi-storeyed housing complexes have to be constructed to provide housing facilities to the homeless poor families living in the cities across the state.

The CM asked the UDHD officials to expeditiously identify the places and points in the cities where such housing complexes have to be constructed, and also asked them to begin the work in this regard in right earnest and in a planned manner.

Nitish also asked the officials to conduct meticulous survey to identify the homeless urban poor, so that no deserving is left uncovered under the scheme.

The CM reviewed the progress made with regard to the activities to be taken up under the scheme from the Sankalp auditorium at the CM’s official residence through videoconferencing. UDHD principal secretary presented the detailed information regarding the work done on the scheme.

Other senior officials who also participated in the review meeting were principal secretary to the CM Deepak Kumar, chief secretary Amir Subhani, additional chief secretary of the finance-cum-general administration department S Siddharth and secretary to the CM Anupam Kumar.
