Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) is mulling setting up a recovery cell to collect its outstanding dues from defaulting allottees. The Authority has to collect Rs 6800 crores as dues. A proposal for the cell will soon be forwarded to the Uttar Pradesh government. Meanwhile, GNIDA has also started issuing notices to the defaulting allottees warning of cancellation of allotment if they do not pay up.
As per GNIDA officials, even as individual notices are being issued to defaulters, a general public notice has also been uploaded on the Authority’s website. “As per the notice, we have warned allottees that default in allotment amount and three consecutive instalments will lead to cancellation of allotment of plot/flat,” said B.K Tripathi, Additional CEO (ACEO), GNIDA. “Compound interest on the defaulted amount shall be levied quarterly as per the norms as indicated in the brochure or lease deed. No interest will be waived off for defaulters,” he said. Defaulters have also been asked to deposit their outstanding dues immediately, failing which the GNIDA will take action. “If any defaulting allottee whose name is in the defaulter list has paid up, the allottee can submit the photocopies of deposited challans through online services after filling the KYA form to the Authority for reconciliation and updating,” explained the ACEO.
