Greater Noida RWAs to allow keepups
The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has decided to grant recognition to RWAs and hand them over the responsibility of small maintenance works besides upkeep of community centres. The civic agency also has plans to authorise the RWAs and the Evergreen Federation of RWAs to regulate entry into sectors in order to prevent mischief and unlawful activities. “The idea is to avoid residents from approaching the authority with their small issues,” said B K Tripathi, additional CEO, GNIDA. On Saturday, the GNIDA said that it has drafted the bylaws for the same and uploaded them on www.greaternoida.com. Stakeholders are being asked for their suggestions and objections, which they have to submit within 30 days to the manager (urban services). These bylaws will be modified in the next board meeting, after which they will be sent for approval to the state government before being implemented,” said Tripathi. A proposal for giving recognition to the RWAs was initiated in July 2016 and a committee was formed by then CEO to take it further, said officials. According to residents, the existing RWAs in Greater Noida have not been recognised by the GNIDA even though they are registered by the Registrar of Societies, Meerut.
