Indore Set to Be First City to Get Digital Address

Indore is all set to have a digital address system with Indore Smart City Development Ltd (ISCDL) signing up a MoU with the city-based start-up to launch a mobile application for allotting a unique digital doorstep number for all property free of cost.

The mobile application – ‘Pataa’ – which has already been launched focuses on simplifying a long address into a digital code and making the navigation process a lot simpler without charging anything from the users ISCDL, CEO Rishabh Gupta said.

“Once the user downloads the app and registers with their address, he or she can then get a custom code which will be unique to their address and the same can be shared in the form of an online link to help others reach the exact location of the user, “Gupta said.

The app enables users to create a code for as small as 3x3 sq mt of their doorstep or establishment for maximum accuracy. “This app will be linked with government services. e-KYC in the banking sector, emergency services like ambulance, fire, police, and civic services like Indore 311 and will be free for citizens’ uses said, Gupta. The MoU is also aimed at promoting start-up culture in Indore and make use of the best innovation, he added.

Indore Smart City had in the year 2019 announced its plan to launch a digital door number system for both residential and commercial properties in the city. But the initiative never took off. “We now plan to integrate all those services with this new application soon, claimed Gupta.

Officials with the start-up firm claimed that they plan to integrate and make this application available for drone delivery to achieve the target o making Indore the first digital address city. “These services will be useful, especially in distant places and rural areas, where people live in unnamed areas and assist police and fire brigade services to reach accurate location."
