Ludhiana civic body to visit every house to recover property tax dues

The officials of the Ludhiana municipal corporation have decided to send their teams door to door for ensuring maximum recovery of the pending dues. The department has also appealed to the residents for clearing their dues as it was a golden opportunity for them to pay the pending tax without any penalty and interest. However, the officials claimed that there were no major defaulters in the list. The government has recently issued the notification for the defaulters of house tax and property tax to pay the pending amount with 10% rebate. For the next three months, there no penalty and interest will be charged on the tax amount. The officials will upload the notification on its official website and its mobile application for the public. The officials claimed that there are over one lakh defaulters from whom they can recover around Rs 30-40 crore.
