Air India's iconic building in Maharashtra capital is on sale for Rs 1,600 cr. The building situated at Nariman Point is currently owned by Air India Assets Holding Limited. The building will now be bought by Maharashtra government and will be used as an extension of Mantralaya. The sale comes after Air India Holdings agreed for the last offer of Rs 1,600Crs.
However, Maharashtra government has clarified on the deal saying it will finalised the deal only if the Central government vacates all offices in the building.
The 23-storey building was vacated by Air India and shifted to New Delhi in February this year. The iconic building is situated at a plot that was given on a 99-year lease to Air India by Maharashtra government in 1970.
