The draft of the revised master plan for Mangaluru city, which is being prepared by the Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (Muda), will be ready in three months, said a Muda official at icial at the Mangaluru City Corporation council meeting.
Meanwhile, MCC Commissioner Anand CL directed Muda officials to discuss the master plan with all the 60 corporators before finalising the draft to avoid any complications in future.
When the corporators raised the issue of applicants made to run from pillar to post for single site approval at Muda, mayor Jayanand Anchan directed Muda officials to work in coordination with MCC officials.
Corporator AC Vinayaraj said as many as 2.1 lakh properties in MCC limits are covered under Self-Assessment Scheme (SAS). However, in 2022-23, about 70,000 properties have not paid the SAS. Despite the standing committee on finance and taxation proposing to increase manpower to complete the recovery process, no steps have been taken, he said.
Incidentally, this was the last council meeting with Jayanand Anchan as the mayor as mayoral elections will be held next month.
