MHADA Announces 10% To 25% Price Reduction On 370 Houses

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has announced a price reduction of 10% to 25% on 370 houses available through its Mumbai Board Lottery. This announcement was made today by Housing Minister Atul Save at the unveiling of MHADA's mascot, 'Shri and Shrimati Nivasi,’ at the MHADA headquarters.

The 370 apartments, which were acquired through redevelopment projects under DCR 33(5), 33(7), and 58, will now be available at significantly reduced prices. Minister Save detailed the reductions: a 25% cut for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 20% for the Low-Income Group (LIG), 15% for the Middle-Income Group (MIG), and 10% for the High-Income Group (HIG). The revised prices will be made available on the official MHADA website and through press releases soon.

To allow more citizens to participate in the lottery, the deadline for online application submissions has been extended until September 19, 2024. The updated schedule for the lottery draw will be announced shortly.

While welcoming MHADA's mascot into the MHADA family, Minister Atul Save said, "This mascot will act as a goodwill ambassador for MHADA. As a citizen-centric organization, MHADA interacts with many people who seek guidance on various processes. In such instances, this mascot, Shri and Shrimati Nivasi, will help citizens understand and navigate MHADA’s procedures. MHADA has always adapted to changing times, implementing necessary updates to its operations. By integrating modern technology, MHADA has resolved many issues faced by citizens through online services, and has also launched the highly transparent IHLMS 2.0 system for apartment sales. Creating these mascots is another step forward in our commitment to public service.

Minister Save also praised the contributions of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar in the housing sector, stating, "This mascot will serve as a living companion for citizens on their journey to homeownership. They will be an effective tool in making information about MHADA’s schemes more accessible, thereby aiding citizens in their decision-making process."

Speaking at the event, MHADA Vice President and CEO, Sanjeev Jaiswal (IAS), said, "MHADA's mascot, 'Shri and Shrimati Nivasi,’ symbolize the new identity of MHADA and bring to life the dream of homeownership for every citizen. This mascot will guide people regarding MHADA’s schemes, offering friendly advice on housing-related issues and acting as a reliable companion in their journey. The mascot will provide friendly guidance on housing matters, making information about MHADA’s schemes and services more easily accessible to the public. 'Shri and Shrimati Nivasi' embody MHADA's goals and efficiency. Through them, our aim is to deliver services more seamlessly and achieve excellence in the housing sector. MHADA's next goal is to ensure the availability of affordable homes to the public."

He added, "Under the guidance of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, and Housing Minister Atul Save, MHADA has implemented the IHLMS 2.0, a transparent online lottery system for apartment sales. This system covers everything from registration to possession of the apartment. We are also actively engaged on social media platforms to quickly disseminate information related to MHADA and to stay connected with the public. In the future, chatbox technology will also be integrated into MHADA’s mascot system."

The event was attended by key MHADA officials, including Milind Borikar, Chief Officer of Mumbai Board; Milind Shambharkar, Chief Officer of the Mumbai Building Repairs and Reconstruction Board; and Dheerajkumar Pandirkar, Chief Engineer-2, among others.
