Bengaluru's prospect of getting a second international airport is set to become closer to reality, with a high-level team of Airports Authority of India (AAI) officials recently visiting the three designated locations finalised by the state government.
According to a report in the infrastructure development department, the AAI officials' team, led by Vikram Singh, general manager (operations) at the AAI corporate headquarters, met with the state government officials.
The Karnataka State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (KSIIDC) managing director, Khushboo Goel Chowdhary, briefed the AAI team about the three proposed places identified by the government for setting up the airport. The team is expected to visit the locations, including two off the Kanakapura Road and another off the Nelamangala-Kunigal Road, and subsequently hold talks with Infrastructure Development Minister MB Patil.
