Notices Served Over Illegal Govt Land Sale In TDI City Haryana

A scam worth crore of rupees has come to the fore whereby a private builder sold undetermined land (UD land), parks, roads and green belt area to private persons at TDI City in Sector 23 in Panipat, Haryana.

After the matter came to the fore, the District Town Planner (DTP) served notices to 12 persons including the registered plot owners and the builder company for selling and purchasing plots of UD land as well as green belt in the TDI city and asked them to appear in the office on November 28 with their documents.

Jogender Swami, president, Jan Aawaj Society and former Zila Parishad member in his complaint to Haryana Chief Minister, Chief Town Planner and Director, Country and Town Planning, DC Panipat and Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Panipat, alleged the land mafia active in the TDI City had sold not only the UD land, green belt, park area registered in the name of the district town planner (DTP) by making plots, but even the road. A residential society has been developed in Sector 23 by TDI.

Land mafia active in TDI City had sold the land left for parks, green belts and roads in the society, registered in the name of the district town planner (DTP), by plotting it.

Mafia made a revenue loss of crores of rupees to the government by selling the land without getting any plan approval from the Director, Town and Country Planning Department, in Chandigarh

The Tehsildar and other employees of the Revenue Department in connivance with the land mafia registered the sale deeds of the government land in the name of private people, it is alleged

District Town Planner (DTP) asked them to appear in the office on November 28 with their documents. He also alleged the mafia made a revenue loss of crores of rupees to the government by selling the UD land, green belt, parks and roads without getting any plan approval from the Director, Town and Country Planning Department, in Chandigarh.

Swami further alleged that the circle rate in TDI is Rs 23,000 per square metre while the land mafia in connivance with the officials of the Revenue Department got the sale deed registered of plots at park, UD land and roads at only Rs 3,000 per square metre. “This is direct revenue loss of crores of rupees to the government by the land mafia,” Swami alleged.

Following the complaint, the DTP served show cause notices to eleven people including the firm Mahesh Farms Private Limited and 10 other private persons who purchased plots and constructed their buildings on these plots.

The DTP in its show cause notice said, “You have raised unauthorised construction on open space/green area and UD land earmarked in the approved layout plan of residential plotted colony developed by M/S Mahesh Farms Private Limited (TDI City Sector 23) by illegal sale of the area and changed the layout of the said colony without prior permission of the Director, Town and Country Planning, which is in contravention of Section 3B”.

The DTP asked them to stop any construction, sale and division of land and to produce their registration deed, allotment letter or any other document and to appear in his office on November 28.
