The National Payments Corporation of India wants to create a 5 lakh sq ft space in the Bandra Kurla Complex business district, according to the top official. Its chief executive, Dilip Asbe, stated that the building will be able to accommodate about 5,000 people and will take about three years to build. The body has a rented place in BKC as its headquarters and two other offices in suburban Jogeshwari and Goregaon.
There will also be consolidation of staff into the headquarters, adding that about 1,000 employees of NPCI's over 2,000 employees are based in the city. The work on artificial intelligence will make it pertinent to have more seats, for which the new facility will be useful.
