The Pacific Group is preparing to expand its footprint into Jaipur with the new development of a 1.5 million-square-foot shopping mall and a 130-room hotel amid rising demand for high-end retail and hospitality spaces in tier-II and III cities. The company, which operates nine shopping malls across Delhi, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Dehradun, is set to build the new complex on an 11-acre plot in the Rajasthan capital.
Reportedly, Abhishek Bansal, Managing Director of Pacific Group, shared that the company has a portfolio of nine shopping malls and is now expanding its presence in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Additionally, he mentioned that the company has secured an 11-acre plot in Jaipur to develop the shopping mall, which will encompass approximately 1.5 million square feet.
Furthermore, Bansal explained that the mall in Jaipur is projected to commence operations by the end of 2026, while the hotel is anticipated to open in 2027. Additionally, as per reports, they have initiated the process of leasing space to retailers.
Bansal explained that their existing portfolio of shopping malls, four in Delhi, two each in Faridabad and Dehradun, and one in Ghaziabad, is performing well, with notable growth seen particularly in the food and beverage sector. He stressed the strong demand for quality retail and hotel infrastructure outside metro cities, encouraging the group to look beyond its traditional markets.
While the immediate focus is on delivering the Jaipur project, the group also explores further expansion opportunities once construction progresses. Bansal expressed confidence in the future of organised retail in India, noting its ongoing evolution and the increasing appetite for modern retail experiences. He added that he does not see e-commerce as a threat to physical retail, suggesting that both can coexist and grow.
This planned expansion aligns with broader industry trends. According to a recent report by real estate consultancy Cushman & Wakefield, 19 Grade A shopping malls, totalling 12.3 million square feet, are expected to be launched across India’s top eight cities, including Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai, over 2025 and 2026.
