Pimpri Chinchwad collects 60% property tax via online

Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has collected nearly 60% property tax via online. Explaining the reason for the rise in online tax payments, DilipGawde, additional commissioner, said, “A large number of IT professionals live in Sangvi, Pimple Saudagar, Pimple Nilakh and Wakad and surrounding areas. These professionals prefer to pay property tax online.” In all, 16,977 property holders paid Rs 37.48 crore through cheques, while 206 property holders paid through demand drafts, totalling Rs 1.88 crore.
