All the properties in Bengaluru that have PID or Property Identification Number will soon get a digital id. This also applies to city roads too.
In a release, BBMP said that the digital numbers will be given to properties so as to prevent duplication of property numbers and simplify the tax collection system. It also helps the BBMP in attending to any complaint raised by the property owner as identifying the exact spot becomes easier through GPS system.
The new initiative under smart city project, is aiming to prevent duplication of property numbers as it is a GPS enabled system. The properties will also get a digital card that has the new digital number.
The move that comes under Centre’s smart city mission and gives eight digit alphanumeric identity as a standardized digital address number. Each property will be tagged to GPS, and hence enabling it to be located through Google maps.
