ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (India), better known as STT GDC India, is set to make a major investment in Maharashtra to strengthen India’s digital infrastructure. The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to develop state-of-the-art data centre campuses in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Pune.
This move reaffirms STT GDC India’s leadership in the co-location data centre space and further expands its already strong presence across 10 major Indian cities, including Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Noida, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad.
Big Investment, Big Impact
Under the newly signed MoU, STT GDC India will invest up to Rs. 5,000 crore (approximately SGD 735 million) in building and expanding data centre parks in Maharashtra. One of the key developments will be a new, large-scale campus in Palava, spread over 27 acres. This facility is being designed to support cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and high-density computing, making it a future-ready digital hub.
These data centre campuses will not only enhance digital capabilities but are also expected to significantly boost the local economy. The projects will create more than 500 high-skilled jobs and around 2,000 indirect employment opportunities, supporting Maharashtra’s vision of becoming a digital innovation powerhouse.
