Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin launched a new initiative of state govt's first co-working space – Mudhalvar Padaipagam — on Jagannathan Street at Agaram near Perambur.
The project, at an outlay of 2.85 crore, is funded by Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC), Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority, and Kolathur MLA Stalin's constituency development fund.
The ground-plus-two floors centre, spanning around 2,400 square feet, has continuous high-speed internet and desks with power outlets. The ground floor has a co-working space that can host 38 people. Three conference rooms for groups of four and six members have also been constructed on the floor.
Going up, a learning centre with 2,000 competitive exam books and three computer desks is built to accommodate 51 people. On the second floor, there is a 30-seater dining area with a stall selling tea and snacks.
Online booking options are available for the co-working space, learning centre, and conference rooms on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis between 7am and 8pm.
The Mudhalvar Padaipagam is part of the “Vada Chennai Valarchi Thittam” (North Chennai Development Scheme) undertaken by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA), and has been established at a cost of Rs 2.85 crore.
