As India's construction and home improvement sectors increasingly embrace large-format tiles, engineered surfaces and premium interior finishes, demand is rising for installation materials capable of handling more complex applications. Responding to this shift, Walplast Products Pvt. Ltd. has launched HomeSure TileEx EX-566 PU, a two-component polyurethane-epoxy hybrid tile adhesive designed for high-performance tile and stone installations.
The new product expands the company's HomeSure portfolio and is aimed at addressing the evolving needs of contractors, applicators, architects and homeowners working on both residential and commercial projects.
According to the company, the adhesive has been engineered to deliver strong bonding strength, flexibility and durability across a wide variety of surfaces. It can be used for ceramic, vitrified, engineered, artificial and natural stone installations on substrates ranging from cementitious surfaces and drywall to plywood, metal and other non-absorbing bases.
The launch comes at a time when construction practices are evolving beyond conventional tile applications. Larger tile formats and premium finishes often require adhesives that can accommodate movement, stress and varying substrate conditions without compromising performance.
"The growing adoption of large-format tiles and premium interior finishes is driving demand for more advanced installation solutions in the market," said Lokesh Jain, Business Head - Tile Adhesive, Putty and Paint Division at Walplast Products Pvt. Ltd.
He added that HomeSure TileEx EX-566 PU has been developed as a premium offering for contractors and applicators seeking stronger bonding performance and superior finish quality. The product also broadens the company's portfolio for dealers and channel partners, enabling them to cater to changing customer preferences and opportunities emerging in the tile installation segment.
The adhesive conforms to IS 15477:2019 (Type 5) and EN 12004 R2T standards. Walplast says its PU-epoxy hybrid technology provides high deformability, strong adhesion and enhanced flexibility, making it suitable for challenging substrates and large-format applications where traditional adhesives may have limitations.
From a technical perspective, the product has been designed to improve workability during installation through extended open time and longer pot life, allowing installers greater flexibility in tile placement and adjustment.
"HomeSure TileEx EX-566 PU has been developed using advanced PU-epoxy hybrid technology to meet the evolving technical requirements of modern tile installation systems," said Sanjay Pawar, Head of R&D and Quality at Walplast.
"Our focus was to create a high-performance adhesive that delivers superior adhesion, flexibility and durability across multiple substrates while ensuring better workability and long-term application stability," he added.
The launch further strengthens Walplast's position in the building materials segment. Through its HomeSure brand, the company offers a range of products including wall putty, tile adhesives, construction chemicals, admixtures, gypsum-based solutions, paints and textures.
Walplast currently operates through a nationwide distribution network comprising more than 800 distributors, 6,000 dealers and 65,000 influencers, reflecting its growing presence across India's construction ecosystem.
